Peking Duck: A Tradition Spanning Centuries
The story of a dish that became a hallmark of Chinese cuisine, and why it is served exactly this way.
Welcome to the gastronomic universe of the J.Z. Peking Duck Restaurant Complex, a place where history and luxury are intertwined.
On the first level, you will be greeted by the legendary bistro Qìng-fēng, founded in 1948 by the Institute of Healthy Nutrition of China. This is an atmospheric space where the rebellious spirit of Beijing, the spirit of southern hospitality of Canton, bright colors and lively emotions in the spicy enthusiasm of Sichuan and, of course, the Shaanxi atmosphere of peace harmoniously coexist.
J.Z. Peking duck, a premium restaurant complex with a majestic Imperial Hall and 13 exquisite VIP rooms, ideal for important business negotiations, friendly or family celebrations, as well as the private atmosphere of a romantic dinner, opened its doors on the two upper floors.
It’s not just the kitchen that’s important to us, but also all the impressions of the rear sight. The J.Z. Peking duck restaurant complex is an atmosphere, interior details, serving and flavors that create a special mood in which the culture of China is vividly revealed.
We strive to ensure that each dish conveys respect for traditions, depth of taste and craftsmanship. The restaurant features cuisine from 6 regions of China: Beijing, Shandong, Cantonese, Hunan, Sichuan and Shaanxi. Each area has a separate Chinese chef with a focus on the specifics of cooking in the region, which allows us to ensure the authenticity of the recipes. A special place in this is occupied by the signature Peking duck, the preparation of which is supervised by chef Liu Dianhua, the keeper and successor of the dynasty of “one-course chefs” in the third generation.
